Second medical visit

Image
February 29, 2016          Today Jeff and Jim took Jasper back to the doctor.  He tested positive for TB a couple of days ago so they needed to do a chest x-ray to confirm if he really had it or not.  After 8 or 9 x-rays, with Jeff trying to hold him down, they finally said that he is clear!  Now Jasper is cleared to get a visa!!!  That is such a gift from God!!!  The rest of the day the guys walked around a park that is across the street from their hotel and relaxed.  It seems that Jasper is beginning to attach to his daddy and gramps.  Lots of love will do that!                                                                                   Rebecca

Shamian

Sunday, February 28, 2016 Today was our trip to Shamian Island and the White Swan.  Last time the white swan was closed for renovations.  The island is where adoptive families once stayed during the final process of their adoptions.  There are some fun souvenir shops on the island.  We bought a few small items for the kids at home.  After some wondering we went to Lucie’s Restaurant.  Jasper now refuses congee which is basically all he ate in the orphanage.  It's a soggy rice dish comparable to oatmeal here in the US.  I guess he has discovered there is much more to eat in life.  Other than that he eats about anything.  We went back to the hotel for a nap.  I fell asleep while Jasper was still standing in the crib.  Dad later noticed he had fallen asleep standing in the crib and jerking every time his head fell down.  He was gently laid down and we all had a great rest.  Dinner was at a Portuguese restaurant.  We later walked around a lake at one of the parks.  Today was a wonder

February 27, 2016       Today was our visit to the Guangzhou Zoo!  It started out with the now normal executive buffet breakfast.  Absolutely amazing food.  We met in the lobby at 9 to travel to the zoo.  Jasper rode in the backpack carrier and seemed to take it all in.  Jasper is doing so much better.  He is allowing us to smother him with hugs a little more.  I think he is getting used to us.  We saw many wonderful animals including red pandas.  Once back to the hotel we found out the bad news that he was positive for the TB test.  We believe it to be a false positive but have to go back for a chest x-ray on Monday.  Pray that everything is clear.  For dinner the group went out to a northern style Chinese restaurant.  We had dumplings, wrap things, sweet and sour pork, lamb on a stick and much more.  We have been spoiled by the food.  Yes there are a lot of weird items on the menu, but many wonderful ones too.  After dinner we walked through the park which was decorated for the lant
