I Took His Hand and Followed Mrs. Roy L. Peifer My dishes went unwashed today, I didn't make the bed, I took his hand and followed Where his eager footsteps led. Oh yes, we went adventuring, My little son and I... Exploring all the great outdoors Beneath the summer sky We waded in a crystal stream, We wandered through a wood... My kitchen wasn't swept today But life was gay and good. We found a cool, sun-dappled glade And now my small son knows How Mother Bunny hides her nest, Where jack-in-the-pulpit grows. We watched a robin feed her young, We climbed a sunlit hill... Saw cloud-sheep scamper through the sky, We plucked a daffodil. That my house was neglected, That I didn't brush the stairs, In twenty years, no one on earth Will know, or even care. But that I've helped my little boy To noble manhood grow, In twenty years, the whole wide world May look and see and know.

Strawberry Fields

So yesterday at MOPS (moms of preschoolers) our mentor mom spoke about enjoying the season you are in. As a prop, she had a HUGE bowl of beautiful strawberries. Well when the boys and I got home that bowl of strawberries was stuck in my head. I then did what any other mother of toddlers would do, I called Jeff and asked him if he would like to meet us for dinner and then head out to a strawberry farm to pick some fresh berries. The kids loved it! Cooper could not keep his little hands out of the bucket his daddy was "trying" to fill. Literally every berry Jeff put in the bucket Coop would eat - leaves and all. The shirt he was wearing is now permanently red from all the juice that was running off his chin. Good memories! Max did such a good job. I told him to only pick the red ones and did just that. He did eat his fair share too, but he also shared with his little brother. Max would pick a berry off the plant, pull the leaves off, give it to Cooper, and say "H
After reading this all I felt was shame that I can't even find time to read the Bible. What is wrong with me as an American Christian? Tuesday, May 04, 2010 WorldNetDaily Exclusive Martyred: 176,000 Christians in 1 year By Bob Unruh A new ministry partnership has launched a campaign to raise awareness of the fact that an estimated 176,000 Christians around the world were martyred – killed for their faith – in a one-year period from the middle of 2008 to the middle of 2009. That's 482 deaths per day, one every three minutes. Martyrdom didn't go away with the Middle Ages, according to reports from Open Doors USA, which now has combined efforts with actor Kirk Cameron of "The Way of the Master" ministry as well as evangelist Ray Comfort of Living Waters ministry to focus on those who are being persecuted for their faith. Emeal Zwayne, executive vice president of Living Waters, said that few Christians in the U.S. are even aware "that an estimated 176,000

Mother's Day Thoughts

Image
This Mother's day have been very special and thought provoking for me. Yes, my "boys" gave me a wonderful Mother's Day gift of an oh so comfortable-bright red lawn chair to use while camping or watching them play outside. Cooper woke me us nice and early to give me a special Mother's Day smile that only he can give and Max made me my first Mother's Day picture at church this morning complete with his darling hand print. When I saw it he said, "Paint hand...paint hand at church,". It is so amazing to me that he is starting to recognize places that we visit often especially church. When we pulled into our parking place this morning he exclaimed Church! That brings me to what has been going through my red-head today. How do I as a mom, with my husband, bring up our family to be passionately in love with our Christ? We are raising two men for Jesus and are getting a chance to raise another child this Fall. Just the thought is so overwhelming an

Cooper's the Big 1

Image
Our Super Cooper has turned the big O-N-E! We had a wonderful family party for our little man which included the all important dinner, cake, and presents! Cooper's first birthday gifts were ping pong balls and some new cars. What else does a newly one year old need! This little guy just loves to crawl around throwing small balls and cars. I love the pictures of him eating his birthday cake...just too cute! He really got into his cake, but it did take him a while to figure out that he could dig in. When he had eaten enough and we took the cake away he was not exactly thrilled with us...and again we have a cute picture. Happy Birthday Super Cooper. Mommy, Daddy, and Max love you soooo very much!
