Another Wet Day

Image
Today in 6 easy steps... Went to church at the park with our neighbors and Dotsons. Max learned with magic markers do for the first time! That was cool. We went to the Splash Pad for a fun family night! Cooper ate more pears at the Splash Pad. Cooper sucked on his toes for an after dinner snack. Book, Blanket, Friends, Milk, and then Daddy was off to hockey and mom is getting a quite night to update this blog!

A Wet Saturday Night

mm We got to go in a boat on the lake!!!! We were so excited! Recently Max, Cooper, and I met a really nice mom and her son in our playgroup and it turned out that they actually live out here in the county about 4 min. from our house. (We didn't know other fun people lived this far out in the boonies..except our neighbors of course.) They go out on the lake almost every night and invited us to join them. We had such a blast together. They have a son that is only 2 months older than Max and they really got along well. It was so fun to watch Max experience a boat and swimming in the lake for the first time. "Bobbing" in the water was so relaxing and yes of course Max loved it. Cooper, thankfully, rested in the boat while we were "bobbing" . Cooper did so well on the boat. The motion of the water and the warm wind hitting him relaxed him as well. He slept most of the time we were out on the lake. I would call that a success! While Cooper was taking a s

Saturday Morning

We had a BIG Saturday so that is why I have broken it up in 2 different blog entries. Saturday morning we has a leisurely breakfast at Paneras and then we were off to the Zoo! Saturday that had a "Touch a Truck" day so we knew we just had to go. It was a fun trip. The boys got to sit in an ambulance and get their picture taken with two real EMTs...they were very excited. We even got to see a police motorcycle and hear the siren, but Max was a bit to timid to sit on it. Along with the "big trucks", we saw the bird show and that was really fun. There is a parrot there named Einstein and he is quite famous for his ability to "talk". Check him out on YouTube and he might even impress you. This bird has been on Jay Leno, The Morning Show, Animal Planet, and more and he lives right here in Knoxville! Wow! What a celebrity!

Daddy/Max Time!

Image
Thanks to CC and Granddad (or Pappy we are not quite sure on his name yet, hehe) Max and his Daddy are getting to go to The Little Gym every Friday for gym class. This past Friday was there first time together and they BOTH had a blast. It may be hard to pick Max and Jeff out in the pictures, but Jeff is wearing a red plaid shirt and Max is in green overalls. They start each class out on the big red mat and dancing to music and following directions. They teach skipping, jumping, running, etc. here . Then they move on to the gymnastic equipment/mats where they teach a 3 skills each class. This week they taught how to safely roll (Jeff held Max as they rolled down an inclined mat), how to swing on a bar, and I can't remember the last one. They are so excited about getting to go back every Friday! This class will be really good for Max to learn not only gross motor skills, but also how to interact with other little kids in a very active environment. Cooper and I got to watch t

Monday Night

Once our bellies were full of skillet sensation goodness outside we went for a walk. Max was the perfect big brother as he pushed little Cooper all over our short street. He was so happy and so funny as he acted like a little adult. He definitely was very proud of his accomplishment. During our walk our neighbors came home and Jacob jumped out of the car when he saw Max Man. He is so funny how he doesn't care about the age of the kid, he just wants to PLAY! Max and Jacob played with their cars on our quite road...well it was quite until they began to run and play. They were really fun to watch. We are very lucky to have wonderful neighbors!

A Full Weekend Already

Image
It is only Saturday night and we have already had a full weekend. Jeff had Friday off so our weekend started early! Friday morning Jeff and Max gave the dogs a bath. I am pretty sure that Max had the most fun in the bunch. He loved it when those wet beasts shook off and sprayed him. After the dogs were clean Max and Jeff took Mary Anne to the vet for her yearly shots...once again Max thought it was a lot more fun than Mary Anne did. When they got back the two tool men in my life (Max and his Daddy) installed my new bathroom mirror! It looks so beautiful...next is that hideous light fixture. If that was not enough while Max took a long and happy nap, Jeff began to put a roof on our back porch! Wow, Jeff sure has been busy! This morning we went to see the Big Trucks Festival. Max had a lot of fun sitting in all the drivers seats of the fire trucks, police cars, backhoes, etc. He was a bit cautious when it came to walking around the large trucks. He made sure that Jeff or I

3 New Accomplishments!

Image
Accomplishment #1 Last night Cooper got his first "real" bath in the tub! He seemed so relaxed in the warm bath water; I know he enjoyed it. Max did not show any interest that his brother was bathing with him. He has a one track mind and it was set on his orange dump truck that he was taking on an underwater adventure. Cooper smiled and cooed while in the tub. I bet he enjoyed tha t a lot more than the little foam bath mat I had been cleaning him on. This will definitely be apart of the new bed time rou tine. After the warm bath and nice cozy p.j.s he actually slept all night and did not wake until 7:30am! We let him take a dip in the tub again tonight and hopefully we will have the same luck tonight and in the morning! Accomplishment #2 I have been giving Cooper rice cereal a little at a time every once in a while to slowly get him use to it. This morning was the first morning that he actually seemed to be eating it! Perhaps that is w hy he took a FOUR HOUR nap tod

Boys with their trucks

Boys never really grow up. Tonight my three boys were rolling a truck down our driveway. They had alot of fun!

The Little Gym

Image
Today our playgroup went to The Little Gym. It is a gym that teaches babies through elementary kids early gymnastic skills. It was so much fun! Max had a blast and I think that Cooper even enjoyed all the music and colors going on in the gym. We sang songs; danced on a big red mat; tried to jump, skip, roll around; and even learned some cool gymnastic skills. Max began to learn how to walk on the balance beam sideways, swing on the low bar, and even how to do a summersalt (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) down an inclined mat. It was so much fun that Jeff is taking Max to a free trial class on Saturday and they might even enroll. There is a class for Max's age group that meets on Fridays and Jeff wants to take Max for some good Daddy-son time. I sure hope they enjoy the trial class as much I Max I enjoyed our playdate there today! Who knows we could have an Olympic gymnist sleeping in our house...or many a smiling toddler who has way too much energy! I'll take eithe
