Coop's New Tricks

Image
Cooper is becoming human...you know what I mean. He is smiling so much now and trying to laugh (I just know he wants to). Cooper is watching everyone now esspecially his big brother. His newest trick is rolling over! He is rolling up a storm now. His one arm does still get in his way, but his hips and legs are rolled all the way over. We also let him try out the jumparoo yesterday for the first time and he seemed to enjoy it. Yes, we did have to stack some cookbooks under him so he could touch the ground...hehe. Another first is that we let him try rice cereal last night. I really don't think any make it down his throat, but that will come soon enough. I just love the little guy!

Rainin' Frogs

Image
Max gets so excited when I tell him that we can go outside and swim in his pool, but this morning he found a crazy and a bit scary surprise in his water. We found 2 frogs that made our pool their pond for the day. There was one really big ugly one and one little cute baby frog. Max was pretty apprehensive about them and wanted to hold my hand as we walked closer to them; but when I showed him how he can touch them and make them jump, he was very excited. It was really cute to watch him discover those crazy green and warty things in his pool. After we went back inside I uploaded the pictures/videos onto the computer and Max thought it was so funny to watch himself play with the frog. I'm sorry I shot one video sideways, I guess I wasn't thinking. At the beginning of the "sideways" video Max is trying to sign the word "frog". The sign is two fingers flicking under his chin, but he hasn't gotten the flicking motion yet. (Side note: his signing is ge

Hockey Man!

Image
Wow! I knew when Jeff first told me that he wanted to play hockey that he would pretty good with lots of practice-but HE WAS GREAT! Tonight was his first time on the ice with all his hockey gear on, holding a stick, and trying to manover a puck. His coworker, Greg, is teaching him and they seem to be having alot of fun together. Jeffrey's boys really enjoyed watching their daddy on the ice too. Cooper relaxed and enjoyed the practice calmly, while Max clapped, pointed, explored, and constantly said "oooooh" as he saw somthing neat. I think this is going to be the start of a beauiful...sport...hehe. P.s. Jeff is the one in all black!

Dirty Saturday

Image
We had a full day of sun, dirt, sweat, and smiles. Jeff and Gramps worked so hard at putting a new flower bed in where our old driveway was and filling in some low areas. Cooper had a wonderful day getting to fill the warmth of the sun as he bounced in his chair or rocked in Nana or Mom's arms. Max probably had the best time as he "helped" everyone with his new rake and shovel. It was a hard day for the guys, but we did finish it off with a trip to Calhouns on the River! All the hard work looks so great. We can't wait to see flowers, bushes, and grass growing in our new dirt!

Feeding My Boys

Image
I started a new blog today entitled "Feeding My Boys". It is an easy way for me to organize my recipies that my family likes....kinda like my online cookbook. Please send me any kid friendly recipies that you have because I get really tired of eating the same stuff all the time. I need to learn how to hide veggies in food so that Max won't know that he is eating good for ya food. If you have any suggestions, please tell me. Anyway, I hope you can enjoy some of my recipies on the blog and I can't wait to try your's. http://rebeccascookbook.blogspot.com/

Already!

I am so amazed that little Cooper is getting so big already. You can see in this picture that he is now too big to sleep in this chair comfortably....although I guess he does look comfie. He is so sweet and patient already. I just love him so much!

Back to Normal

Image
Whew! To say it was a hard weekend is an understatement . Max cried from Friday morning until Sunday around 3pm...he really felt terrible! When he woke up from his nap Sunday evening he was our good happy Max Man again. It seems like today is back to normal. We woke up, got some breakfast, went for a walk, enjoyed a visit from Auntie Jo, took a nap (well the boys did...I wasn't so lucky) and so on. It feels wonderful to have our old routine back. I hope you enjoy this picture of my 3 favorite men. They have so much fun together and so much more to come!

Driveway Part II

It is finished...for now!

Good Morning

Image
Mornings are so fresh and new. Max Man woke up a little before 7, but did not really want to get up. It is now 9 and he and daddy are sleeping on the couch together where they have been for the last hour and a half. I am pretty sure his fever is down. Super Cooper woke up around 7:30 wide eyed and all smiles. He has not cried a bit this morning; he just smiles and coos. It is so nice to be able to write in the quiet of the morning. I can't remember the last time I heard a morning this quiet! HeHeHe.

Becoming a Mom

Image
The past few days have been more than a challenge, they have been almost a turning point in my life. This has been my first experience taking care of two boys when one is very sick. Max woke up Wednesday morning with a low grade fever and as the day progressed he got worse. By about 4:30pm he was at 104 degrees. That was a long night of rocking my sweet boy. Cooper thankfully slept really well that night. Yesterday I thought the worse was over. Max was playing almost back at full strength with his cars down his "car ramp" otherwise known as a slide, but by about 3pm his fever shot up again. Thankfully this time we were at his doctor's office for his 18 month checkup...perfect timing! So we went home with the knowledge that he did indeed have a virus and to try to keep Cooper from getting it. When the boys and I got back home both of them needed me. Cooper was hungry and sleepy and Max just needed his mommy. So as I sat on the couch holding my extremely hot s

Just some fun pictures of my favorite boys in action! Enjoy.

Look at That!

Max was surprising scared of most of the machines the men used to redo our driveway except the asphalt machines. He sat on a bench in the window watching them run those machines up and down our new driveway. He really had a great time! I will try to remember to take a picture of the finished product tomorrow. It is so wonderful to be able to pull right up to the house and park next to our side door. It really helps me to get the boys in the van when Jeff's at work.
