Good Bye 2009

Everyone celebrates New Year's Eve differently. Some people dress up in fancy cloths, others go to bowl games (Matt and Joanna), and I bet the most sit in their pjs watching the ball drop in Time Square. What did this Bostrom family do to celebrate? The boys finger painted lots of pictures...big mess but bigger smiles. The last day of this year just happened to be big milestone days for both our sons. Cooper began crawling today!!! He is army crawling about 2 feet at a time now. I really don't think that he realizes that he is crawling because he is so fixed on getting what is out of his reach. This is so exciting. I think that crawling is one of the best milestones for baby, mom, and dad. Max figured out how to ride his tricycle today! He is so excited about riding it up and down our hallway. He thinks of it as his runway. It is way too cold and rainy outside to practice out there. I tried so hard to get a good video of both boys and their new found mobility, but...

Max is 2!!!

Tuesday Max turned the BIG 2! Daddy brought his 5 new "Cars" cars and he blew out candles on a pizza pie! We will have cake Saturday at this party, but we still had to put candles on somthing...so dinner worked great. He was so cute blowing out the candles. He liked making the flames dance, but when they finally went out he was a little confused. I can't believe that he is two already. We are now starting a count down to his 3rd birthday and 3 doesn't sound like a baby anymore. My baby is turning into a little kid. We are already so proud of him!

Max is growing up to be such a sweet and caring little boy. Over the weekend we discovered a leak under the kitchen sink so Jeff worked on it most of the day. Max was right there the whole time sitting in his daddy's lap or holding a flash light. When Jeff needed to go get some parts for the drain, Max was right their by his side. They stopped by the grocery store on their way home from the hardware store and Jeff let him push a kids size buggy. Jeff said that Max walked right over to the flowers and picked up a pot of beautiful pink flowers and said "Ooooh". That was all he had to say to get his daddy to buy them. When they got home Max walked in the door carrying the flowers and saying "Mom, Mom, Mom" and gave me the flowers. It was the first time that my little boy brought me flowers from the store and yes I did tear up. My boys are so wonderful...all 3 of them!

Not Again...

Last Saturday we went back to the doc. to have their ears rechecked. What did we find out? They both still have ear infections and Cooper has pneumonia. The doc. started the boys on a series of 3 antibiotic shots. They each got one shot Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to try to clear their persistent ear infections. Cooper also has to do breathing treatments now to clear his lungs of pneumonia. We went back to the doc. yesterday (Monday) and Cooper's pneumonia is much better so we can do fewer breathing treatments now!!! Thank you Lord! They do still have the ear infections so our doc. finally referred us to a specialist. We will see him Jan. 8. Please pray for our little men. They have not felt well for such a long time. Pray that this new doctor will be able to figure out a way to help them or better yet, pray that God will heal them before our appointment! God is our great physician.

Christmas Day!!!

We celebrated Christmas Day just the four of us at our home. It was so fun. The night before Jeff and I exchanged gifts and got the next day's surprises ready. I definitely underestimated the difficulty in arranging train track when you don't have a picture to go on. It took both our brains to get Max's train table full of track in a way that would not get knocked off eaisily causing him toddler frustration...a.k.a. tantrum. We also had to hook up Cooper's "Scout" dog to the computer and program it with all his favorite things-which we made up because who knows what Cooper's favorite animal or color is yet. It was our first Christmas getting to sneak around and get Christmas surprises ready...a special time. The next morning we had so much fun letting Max unwrap more gifts. Cooper even began to get into it this time. The rest of the day we played and relaxed.

Christmas Eve

We were lucky enough to spend the couple of days before and Christmas Eve at Grandad and CC's house. Auntie Jo and Uncky Matt were there too. We had a great time spending time together. I didn't realize that Matt had never really held a baby before and what was the first thing I did...I handed Matt Cooper so I could finish unpacking the car. From then on Matt and Cooper were unseperable! I think Matt is hooked. Too cute! We celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve and let it be known that Max now understands what unwrapping gifts is all about. He helped me play "Santa" and just loved taking gifts to everyone, but enjoyed even more helping them tear into them. After the paper was off, he ran over to me and said more. He didn't really care what was inside the wrapping paper unless it was for him. I guess next year we won't be able to put wrapped gifts under the tree before Christmas. Grandad gave both boys their very own cameras. Cooper's plays all k...

Sickness update

Cooper is better!!! He still has a runny nose and a cough, but if that is all we are excited. We took Max back to the doc. yesterday because Sunday he had broken out in a full body rash. The rash was an allergic reaction from his antibiotic and sense his ear infection has still not cleared up, he was given a 3rd antibiotic. Poor baby. Please pray for him. He is in a good mood during the day which is wonderful, but the nights are tough on his little body. Also please pray for his night terrors. He has been having them off and on for almost a year now, but last night was the worst yet. He was not awake and we could not wake him, but he screamed, cried, and threw his body around. It really scared Jeff and I. We know that God has this and will heal our little man just like he has Cooper. The picture I posted showes a very rare moment. Max actually fell asleep in my arms last night. He hasn't done that in a long time. We just love our little men so much!
