Well...the plane rides are over!  Thank goodness!!!  Everyone did well...we only had one kiddo get sick on the long flight from Seattle to Beijing, but he was tough and got past it!  We don't want to get on a plane for a while.

Snow Scare

T o most people, snow is a wonderful thing. It is so beautiful and can turn an ordinary backyard into a brand new playground complete with snowball throwing and snowman building. This is not the case for our adorable 13 month old. I don't think Max was terrified, but he was "scared stiff". We went o utside to walk in the snow together, and as soon as he took a few steps he froze-and not because it was cold. I could not get him to smile for the life of me. Oh well, we did have a sweet moment when I looked back and saw his and my footprints side-by-side. I bet next year will be a lot different!

Day 4- Registration Day

To day we were free until around 1pm and it was so nice to not have to do anything in a hurry.   We lazily ate breakfast and played outside on a playground.    We explored a nearby mall and found a toy store.   Theo instantly wanted EVERYTHING!   He kept saying something over and over as he put tons of toys in our cart and I’m pretty sure he was saying “I want this and this and this”.   Sweet boy!   He ended up with one very nice orange car that unfortunately, we learned after opening it that is makes lots of noises!   The big kids, of course, also picked out something fun.   So we went back to the hotel and played with our new toys while we waiting to meet the rest of our group at 1pm to go to the civil affairs office. Day 5- Orphanage Visit

Today has been a long day of traveling!   We are actually still in the van driving back to the hotel as I’m typing. But today has been completely beautiful.   After a four hour drive on a highway that is under construction and the speed limit is only 45 mph…..yes only 45mph….we made it the Weifang Orphanage.    Theo jumped out of the car and ran to the orphanage director’s arms (he called her something mama).   It was just so amazing watching her and everyone else hug and want to be with our son.   Theodore was so proud to take us around his home of the last four and a half years.   He pulled me from room to room and talked so fast to everyone.   I have no idea what he was saying, but he sure was happy.   Every once in a while, he would exclaim, “Mama” and run for me to hold him.   Be still my heart!    Then something so sweet happened.    He was sitting in ...
