Today was our trip to Shamian Island and the White Swan. Last time the white swan was closed for renovations. The island is where adoptive families once stayed during the final process of their adoptions. There are some fun souvenir shops on the island. We bought a few small items for the kids at home. After some wondering we went to Lucie’s Restaurant. Jasper now refuses congee which is basically all he ate in the orphanage. It's a soggy rice dish comparable to oatmeal here in the US. I guess he has discovered there is much more to eat in life. Other than that he eats about anything. We went back to the hotel for a nap. I fell asleep while Jasper was still standing in the crib. Dad later noticed he had fallen asleep standing in the crib and jerking every time his head fell down. He was gently laid down and we all had a great rest. Dinner was at a Portuguese restaurant. We later walked around a lake at one of the parks. Today was a wonderful day with Jasper. Such a calm happy boy.
