Merry Christmas

We made memories this December without a full calendar of planned events. It was one of the most relaxed Christmas seasons I can remember and it was wonderful!!!

Some of our memories are going to the Smokies Stadium to see the Christmas light show. Piper was so hyper on the way to the show...the boys kept saying we have a silly sister. Cooper was strangely quiet, later we discovered that he had an ear infection. Max was too excited to go to the tents and get popcorn to really enjoy the lights. He kept saying, is it time to leave the lights now and go to the tents? Jeff and I enjoyed the lights and the kids did too although we didn't know it at the time. Cooper asked me this morning if we could go back there today. It's hard to tell a 2 year old that the Christmas lights don't really work in the day time....smiles! Oh, we did go to the tent and got lots of keddle corn and Santa even came by and talked to the kids.

We built our traditional gingerbread house (from a kit...we are not that talented). We let the boys put all the candy on it. Look out boys, next year Piper will be joining that candy team!

We played with the nativity scene. Adding dinosaurs to the mix seemed to make it better.

Jeff and I had a great time shopping for the kids via our living room couch and Amazon. It was so awesome. We cuddled up with the laptop and placed our orders instead of fighting traffic, crowds, and tons of tempting toys. We are definitely do it that way again next year!

Almost every night we watched a new Christmas cartoon. The kids favorite were the 1930 or 40's cartoons. One cartoon had a man dressed up like Santa making toys for kids in an orphanage. The boys kept saying, the kids are crying, they don't have mommies and daddies. It was so sweet to see their hearts.

Jeff took the boys to pick out a gift for me. They called me while at the store and Max told me that he wasn't going to tell me what my gift was. He was so giggly! When my 3 boys got home, the little ones ran to me and said we aren't going to tell me and then whispered it's a bicycle helmet....so cute! I asked them what color it was and Cooper told me white and Max said blue. They were both right it is white and blue. Oh gosh, I love those whispering boys who can't keep a secret.

We taught Piper to bark like a dog. She some how barks without opening up her mouth. When she sees any animal real or on TV she barks and now when Jeff or I am putting her to bed she lays in our arms and barks. Like her brothers say, we have a silly sister!

The photos in this post were taking right before we went to the Christmas Eve service at church. The only way I could get a decent photo of all 3 excited kids was to let them be on their scooters and ride on toy. They really look like the love each other and they really do!

Cooper got his guitar that he his little 2 year old heart has been begging for for months. Max got his remote control cars that "go by themselves". I can't believe he is so good at them. Piper got a new ride on toys that she constantly tries to take the seat off and ride it like her brother's new scooters. She is going to be just like them! Jeff got a hose real for his air compressor which he installed in the garage as soon as he could sneak away. I love making that man smile with something he wanted but would never buy for himself. And I got the best gift. I got a new bike that I can ride with the rest of the family on so many fun adventures ahead. We are definitely an outdoor family.

This was perfect December. Thank you Jesus!
