Date with Daddy

Jeff took Max to the demolition derby at the fair last night. It started at 7pm and they didn't get home until 10:30pm! They had so much fun together. Jeff called Max yesterday when we were driving home from school and he asked Max if he wanted to go watch cars crash. Of course our little demolition dude got really excited. The rest of the way home he was telling me how when dad finished work he was going to come get Max and they would go in the jeep to watch cars crash. It was so sweet and so awesome to hear his new vocabulary pouring out of his little mouth.

After a napless afternoon Daddy finally came home and the two of them went off together. Jeff said that they were able to watch 2 races and 2 demolition derbies. Max loved it so much! (Max did just tell me that it was really loud and he had to cover his ears.) After the car fun they went over to the fair grounds and he got to ride his very first fair rides. Jeff said that he was amazed how brave Max was. He actually rode quite a few rides on his own.

When my boys got home from their excitement, Max was asleep in Jeff arms with a glow in the dark necklace flashing around little Man's neck. He woke up when we changed him into his pjs and he told me that he liked riding the orange car the most.

Today when I was laying Max down for a nap, he told me that when daddy gets home from work they were going to watch cars crash and play games. I had to tell him that the car show is at a different town today...which is not a lie. It was a good time for both my big boys.
