Two weeks late

Yes, I know I'm late...but what's new. With my two ruggrats I rarely do anything ontime anymore. HeHe...but we sure have fun. Two weeks ago Jeff helped Joanna and Matt move to Alabama and CC helped me entertain the boys in the evenings over dinner. She helped me sooo much! Friday night, while we waited for our family to come back to TN, she helped me pick out a "headboard" for our bed. I wanted somthing different...not a standard headboard. Mom came up with the idea of using a bamboo rug and it was the right price so we tried it. Saturday, Jan helped me figure out how it would look the best and Jeff and Jim nailed it to the wall. I think it looks great...Cooper and Max think so too. The other big thing that "appeared" was a new (to us) Choo-Choo table! Max was quite trilled to say the least. He has really enjoyed playing with it and hope it will be a toy he and Cooper will enjoy together as they get older.

Day 5- Orphanage Visit

Today has been a long day of traveling!   We are actually still in the van driving back to the hotel as I’m typing. But today has been completely beautiful.   After a four hour drive on a highway that is under construction and the speed limit is only 45 mph…..yes only 45mph….we made it the Weifang Orphanage.    Theo jumped out of the car and ran to the orphanage director’s arms (he called her something mama).   It was just so amazing watching her and everyone else hug and want to be with our son.   Theodore was so proud to take us around his home of the last four and a half years.   He pulled me from room to room and talked so fast to everyone.   I have no idea what he was saying, but he sure was happy.   Every once in a while, he would exclaim, “Mama” and run for me to hold him.   Be still my heart!    Then something so sweet happened.    He was sitting in ...

Farewell Dear Pop-Up

Farewell dear pop-up, you will be missed. We had so many wonderful times with you. Your scent was always a comfort to us after a stressfull week at work. Your roof kept us mostly dry in rainy times in the woods. Your stove gave us gormet spegettii and who could forget the hot chocolate every night. We played hours of card games sitting at your table (which I won most of...don't tell Jeff). Your beds gave us and many guests a soft but supported place to lay our heads and the electricity that ran though you was much appreciated when we needed to run the heater. We spent what felt like decades outside your door relaxing by a warm fire; a fire that gave us smores and biscuts on a stick and coutless other campfire goodies. We could say so many more amazing things that you gave us, but like the "Giving Tree" the last thing you gave us was yourself. We sold you, I'm sorry, but you gave us your all and it will not be forgotten when we celebrate in the mall!

Gotcha Day Surprise!!!

It’s still September 9.   We got off the bullet train at the correct stop (thankfully) and went to look for our guide.   We stood in a courtyard for about half an hour until our guide showed up.   He is so kind and apologetic.   He said something about traffic or a different train station…I’m not really sure, but it doesn’t matter.   As we road to our hotel in Jinan, I asked him what time we would meet our children tomorrow (Monday).   He very calmly said, well you all will meet him about 4pm today!   What?!!!   That was in two hours!!!   What a surprise!   When we got to our hotel our rooms weren’t ready yet and we were told they would be ready in one hour.   So I started to get nervous because I”m about to meet my son and we don’t even have a room ready yet.   We finally got one room and then we discovered that the lock/door knob separating our adjoining rooms was broken!   So then we had a worker in o...
